JACKSONVILLE, FL (August 19, 2022) - Excelsior Security Agency (ESA), Jacksonville’s largest privately-owned security agency is reporting a notable increase in security contracting due to the crime surge which has plagued Jacksonville during 2022.
The security agency, which offers both armed and unarmed patrol officers, has reported the rise in violent crimes, associated with unfettered drug activity and gangs, has spiked the need for increased professional security services. This is especially the case where crimes related to drug activity and gangs has affected good citizens just trying to live their own peaceful lives.
“There has been a surge in requests from apartment complexes, motels, restaurants and shopping centers looking for security services” said Sean Saunders, ESA’s Chief Operations Officer. “We have seen more requests for contracted service in the last six months than we did over the same period last year,” he added. “Right here in Jacksonville we have had at least six shootings in one single 24-hour period leaving three people dead and one in critical condition” said Ric Downs, ESA’s CEO. He continued, “Just last week Jacksonville saw at least 10 people being injured related to shots fired on the Westside.”
The agency is currently focusing on accepting new clients, especially apartment management companies and other residential and commercial firms that are looking to provide protection for their tenants—persons who have an expectation of being kept safe.
